High planning uncertainty for trade fairs and events

After many discussions with exhibitors, the organizer AVR Messe- und Veranstaltung GmbH has come to the decision to cancel ABC-Salon 2021 for the time being. The current situation unfortunately forces the organizer to do so: it is currently completely unclear to what extent authorities will already issue permits or how long the lock down will last and therefore no reasonable planning can be made, neither by the exhibitors, the trade visitors nor the organizer.

In addition, at this point the organizer cannot foresee how the situation will develop, when stores will reopen and when weddings will be celebrated again. It is unlikely that trade fairs and events can take place before Easter – and even if it were possible to hold an event like ABC-Salon, this would involve efforts as well as expenses and thus a high risk for trade visitors and exhibitor, while only low visitor numbers could be expected.

High burden for the trade

The trade is currently struggling with full warehouses, high running costs and lack of income. Thus, there are hardly any financial means left to order new collections on a large scale. In addition, it is unclear when weddings – with everything that goes with them – can be celebrated again, resulting in further uncertainty.

Short-term organization of a summer event not excluded

If there should be a positive development in the coming months and retailers and their customers would like to have a summer event, it would be possible to organize and design it as needed. However, the organizer is already focusing the planning on next year: despite all challenges, the organizer is looking ahead to the next trade fair and order season with confidence.

ABC-Salon in Munich set new records on both order days.

The organizers of ABC-Salon are just as enthusiastic about the all-round positive feedback on the order fair at MOC Munich as exhibitors and visitors.

As it turned out, the success story of the compact trade fair with familial feel could be continued this year: from March 1 to 2, 2020, more than 115 renowned labels presented themselves at ABC-Salon – more than ever before. A total of 642 visitors came to Munich to order the new collections at this point in time, which was deliberately chosen early in the year – a new record number of visitors. Another proof for the reputation of ABC -Salon: the visitors came not only from the whole of the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but also from the Czech Republic, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Ukraine.

“This was the best ABC-Salon we have ever attended. We have never been able to generate such strong sales and generate so many customers, including many from Austria and Switzerland as well as from Northern Germany and the Ruhr area. In addition to our own in-house trade fairs, ABC-Salon is the only trade fair where we exhibit. We feel very comfortable here and thank the organizer for the great trade fair organization, ” said Eduard Pfizenmaier, Managing Director of Fashion Queen GmbH.

ABC-Salon was opened with a fashion show. With live music from the band Stanzi Joy and a glass of sparkling wine, the guests got on well and were able to get into conversation, draw inspiration from selected styles for the new season and order them earlier than at other fairs. Exhibitors and visitors were extremely enthusiastic about the event and will be happy to come back next year.

“It was our first time at ABC-Salon and we were more than pleasantly surprised. On Sunday there were two of us at the stand and we could have been four employees, that much was going on. We would love to come back,” comments Anne Kathrine Rantzau, Managing Director Lilly A / S.

The ABC-Salon preview magazine, which appears twice a year – in October and as a special format in January – was sent to 1500 renowned bridal shops from Germany, Austria and Swizerland as a personal invitation and reported about the new collections and highlights of ABC-Salon in advance.

“On Sunday we had appointments and orders from 9.05 am to 6.00 pm, Monday as the second day oft he fair was also very strong. We are absolutely satisfied and we are pleased that ABC-Salon has developed this brilliantly and is visited so well,” sums up Andreas Peucker, head of agency Andreas Peucker.

Last but not least, it is the relaxed atmosphere and the many thoughtful extras og ABC-Salon that both exhibitors and visitors appreciate. The eye-catching presentation in the open area of the foyer facilitates initial contact and the mix of open space and closed showrooms enables each exhibitor to present their collections in an individual style. The excellent visitor service does not only include free parking and WiFi, but visitors could also look forward to small gifts such as a glass of sparkling wine or a welcome bag with exclusive give-aways.

ABC-SALON on the 1st and 2nd of March 2020: more space, more exhibitors

After two years of fully booked exhibition space including a waiting list of interested companies, ABC-Salon will grow with seven additional showrooms next year.

With its early event date from 1st to 2nd March 2020, ABC-Salon will be the kick-off event of the new order season. Here, renowned exhibitors and newcomers will present about 100 brands from their portfolio, including their top sellers as well as key pieces from the collections of bridal, evening and cocktail fashion, shoes, accessories and menswear. Trade visitors are cordially invited to intensify the dialogue with the manufacturers in a relaxed atmosphere, to exchange ideas with colleagues and business partners, to inform themselves about the new collections and styles and to complete and optimize their order.

Trade visitors use the fair not only to a place their order, but rather as an information and business platform

After the successful past event in February 2019, which ended with a record attendance and highly satisfied visitors and exhibitors, the organizer AVR has decided to move from Atrium 3 in the Atrium 4 within the Munich event and order centre MOC for the coming year. The almost identical rooms offer the proven and successful mix of showrooms and open booths as well as an extension of seven adjacent showrooms

The additional showrooms will be skilfully integrated into the previous exhibition concept under the motto “Flower Box”. They do not only form the entrance of the fair and set it in scene with decorations, the new area will also convince with well-known brands and new exhibitors such as LILLY.

By July 15, 2019, interested labels will receive an Early Bird benefit by booking the “Flower Box” and profit from attractive add-ons.

ABC-Salon in Munich can look back on two very successful order days with a record attendance.

The organizers of ABC-Salon are more than satisfied with the order fair at the MOC in Munich and the positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors.

From the 24th of February until the 25th of February, around 95 brands – 15 companies and sub-exhibitors more than in the previous year – presented themselves at ABC-Salon and attracted an interested trade audience. There were more visitors than ever. Not only the DACH region was strongly represented, but also visitors from Slovenia, Poland and Czech Republic came to order the new collections in Munich at this deliberately early stage of the year. Overall, the fair welcomed 520 visitors on the two days of the event.

The early date at the beginning of the year, a successful brand mix and the broad-based invitation campaign in the form of a pre-sent preview magazine, strengthen the event in a pleasingly positive way. In addition, the expansion of services for visitors and exhibitors is continuingly developing. This is the organizer’s short formula for success and is also confirmed by the exhibitors’ feedback.

„This year’s ABC-Salon was another great success for us. We are very happy that we were able to welcome numerous customers from Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Our new collection was very well received by our customers“, says Christian Köhlert, Managing Director of the eponymous label Christian Koehlert.

The relaxed atmosphere of the small, but fine ABC-Salon should be given special attention. The eye-catching presentation in the open space in the foyer facilitates initial contact and is therefore often used by newcomers. Thus, the presentation mix of open spaces and closed showroom is ideal and allows each exhibitor to present their individual collections.

The highlight of the fair was the fashion show on Sunday, creating a successful start to the fair. The TV and radio host Roman Roell led through the twenty minute show, which thrilled the audience and provided valuable impulses for the order.

The exhibitors and visitors agree, the order fair has a permanent place in the calendar. Isabel Zimber, Ladybird Sales Representative for Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland, said: “For us, ABC-Salon is the perfect start into the season, because we can already identify our most popular models here. ABC SALON 2019: The countdown has started….

The kick-off event ABC SALON, the order fair for evening, bridal and cocktail fashion, will take place from 24th until the 25th of February 2019 at the MOC in Munich.

The popularity with the exhibitors and the fully occupied exhibition space in Atrium 3 underline the importance of the order platform. This event must not be missed in the retailers’ exhibition calendar. ABC SALON has recaptured its standing as a fixed event among the trade fairs for evening, bridal and
cocktail fashion.

The order fair ABC SALON presents an inspiring mix of new collections and proven bestsellers from popular top labels, renowned industry leaders and exciting newcomer brands. Among them are Bellice Evening, Bianco Evento, Bridalstar, Christian Koehlert, Emine Yildirim, Euro Mode Donner,
Fashion New York, Kleemeier, Ladybird, Luxuar Fashion, Modeca, Sophia & Camilla, Starnight, Therese & Luise, Très Chic, Visous und Weise. The percentage of new exhibitors in February 2019 will make 17 percent.

Both visitors and exhibitors enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the short distances of ABC SALON. Further highlights include the fashion show at 12 noon on Sunday and an event café where the key looks of selected brands will be presented.
